About the project

My First Personal Project – Aston Martin DB11 (Autodesk Alias) This is my first personal 3D modeling project created in Autodesk Alias, and it has been a huge learning experience for me. While working on the DB11, I explored the full workflow of automotive surfacing — from understanding proportions to refining Class-A quality surfaces. Throughout the process, I learned how to: Set up reference packages and match proportions accurately using blueprints. Build clean primary surfaces that define the core character lines of the car. Use advanced Alias tools like curve networks, multi-surface blends, and surface alignments. Maintain smooth curvature (G2/G3 continuity) across large panels to achieve an authentic automotive finish. Create sharp features such as door cuts, panel gaps, wheel arches, and aero details without breaking surface flow. Organize layers and geometry to keep the model clean and efficient. Apply visualization shaders and lighting setups to present the model clearly. This project helped me understand how much precision, patience, and iteration goes into high-quality automotive surfacing. I’m excited to keep pushing my skills further and take on even more challenging models next!
