Its 2004, paused on the TV is Brian O'Conner's Yellow Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII in 2Fast2Furious, I sat there in awe, with a sketchpad in hand, recreating a masterpiece. And so, the story began. From then on, my two passions, Cars and Sketching, sparked a dream. My passion for cars was born out of an obsession with Audi. My Father has had 7, so naturally, I became obsessed. Architecture was the first career I considered, it soon became engineering as I performed well in Math and was amazed by Physics. During A levels however, I found the Automotive Design course at Coventry University, and everything changed. The dream was reignited. The drive toward a career in Automotive designed was fuelled by seeing a lack of career fulfilment around me. The goal then, was to WANT to go to work on Monday. At University I learnt a lot about Design. I learnt to sketch, to find a meaning for what you're designing, to find strong design themes and a gap in the market. I then stumbled upon Clay and I was invigorated, never before had I experienced the gratification of seeing your design go from lines on a page to a fully realised 3D object. Through the ability to sculpt a form into reality, I was fulfilled. Since University, however, I've learnt that life is about giving, we are here to help the world and all those in it. In 2022 my life changed, my brother passed away, and blessed me with the destruction of everything I knew about Life. A lesson on LIFE, through DEATH, rewrote the script and the answer to 'Why?'. How can I align my profession with my new meaning? FIX PROBLEMS - My design philosophy became about SOLUTIONS. The gift of design is about making this life, this world, better. Its about ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ (Sarbat da bhala) - Blessings for Everyone. A passion for sculpting, but without the materials to do it, led me to Alias. I adapted and kept growing. By enrolling in an online programme I learnt the basics of Alias. However, Alias is tricky to learn without guidance. With grace, Saurabh Shah at Creacion Design entered the story. Since October of 2023 Shah has guided, mentored and motivated me to complete 3 Projects. Having received workflows from the worlds top design studios, my work has improved tenfold. I can now model a Sketch in NURBS and SubD, translating the design language, feeling and meaning. Sketching, Clay and Alias Modelling have culminated in a motivated, passionate 3D Designer with an understanding of Volume, Proportion and Construction, which aids Design Thinking, Development and Modelling Efficiency.
