Key Responsibilities

  • 3D Modeling: Create high-precision CAS models that reflect both design intent and engineering feasibility using Autodesk Alias.

  • Problem Solving: Identify and propose effective solutions to design and engineering challenges during the modeling process.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, engineering, and digital modeling teams to ensure integrated and cohesive project outcomes.

  • Regulatory & Technical Compliance: Factor in legal regulations, engineering parameters, and design constraints independently and effectively.

  • Data Management: Compile modeling data to support milling operations, engineering development, and design documentation.

  • Project Leadership: Lead internal or external project teams, ensuring alignment between design and engineering.

  • Task & Resource Planning (Lead): Develop detailed project plans, including resources and deliverables when leading a project.

  • Issue Escalation (Lead): Identify and escalate design or workflow issues to relevant stakeholders as needed.

  • CAS Presentations: Prepare and present Class-A surfacing work to predefined standards during design reviews and meetings.

  • Managerial Support: Represent design leadership during Design Team Consultations (DTCs) and other key meetings when required.

  • Surface Quality Control: Guarantee that surface quality meets internal AVATR standards across all project phases.

  • Travel Readiness: Available to travel domestically and internationally as required for project needs.


Qualifications

  • Education: Degree in Automotive Design, Industrial Design, or Engineering.

  • Experience: Minimum 7+ years of CAS modeling experience in the global automotive industry, preferably with OEMs.

  • Language: Fluent in English; other languages (e.g., German, Chinese) are a plus.


Technical Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Alias (required).

  • Experience with Maya, SubD modeling, Grasshopper, or Blender is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with rendering tools, virtual reality (VR) software, and digital presentation techniques.

  • Exceptional skills in surface modeling, Class-A surfacing, and delivering production-quality CAD data.

  • Strong project management capabilities and experience leading design/modeling teams.

  • Skilled in verbal and visual communication for internal and external collaboration.
