Hard Modeler

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Lead Hard Modeler to join our automotive design team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality design prototypes, supporting model development from early ergonomic studies to fully finished show cars. Your work will help bridge the gap between design vision and tangible, real-world representations.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Hard Modeler, you will:

• Lead the fabrication of full-size hard models, ergonomic mockups, and show-quality display vehicles

• Collaborate with the paint and surfacing teams to ensure premium finishes and detailed part preparation

• Work with a wide range of materials and tools to meet the highest standards of design model accuracy

• Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized workshop environment

• Work within strict tolerances to deliver precise surface quality and visual realism

• Support the Design Team's deadlines, including occasional flexible hours

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Extensive hands-on experience in a workshop or prototype modeling environment

• Expert-level knowledge of shop machinery, tools, and safe operating procedures

• Outstanding craftsmanship and attention to detail

• Proven ability to build physical models to exact specifications

• Flexibility and dependability under tight timelines and creative expectations

• Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a similar environment

Preferred Qualifications

Additional assets include:

• Direct experience with full show car builds from concept to completion

• Proficiency with automotive spray paint and finishing techniques

• Experience using CAD tools for model planning and visualization

• Previous background in the automotive or transportation design industry
