The Lead Designer is responsible for proposing designs that align with the Design Strategy defined by the Design Department and contribute to strengthening the Dacia brand image.


Main Duties:


Reporting to the Studio Manager, you will be a key player in the creation and development of automotive design projects, from the competition phase to the final project. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

Proposing, producing, and developing innovative designs aligned with the brand's Design Strategy, while taking into account technical and industrial constraints.

Translating creative ideas into 2D/3D objects with the support of clay/digital modelers, graphic designers, colorists, and other designers.

Presenting and defending your proposals at each stage of the approval process.

Guiding and directing project teams (designers and senior designers), ensuring the consistency and graphic quality of deliverables.

Managing project teams across departments, inspiring and developing individual skills.

Collaborate closely with the Engineering, Product, Marketing, and external partners to maintain and enhance the design intent.

Provide suggestions for concept developments, drawing on ongoing creative intelligence.

Prepare and participate in project reviews and key decision-making bodies.

Replace the Studio Manager occasionally for operational project monitoring.


​Required profile:


Graduate from a recognized design school or university equivalent.

Minimum 8 years of professional experience in automotive design, including complex project management and leading creative teams.

Excellent proficiency in 2D/3D design tools, visualization software, digital modeling (AR/VR), and Microsoft Office.

Proven artistic skills: the ability to draw, formalize, and showcase your ideas with creativity and precision.

Strong automotive knowledge and a strong design ethos.

Proven leadership, cross-functional management skills, and the ability to coach creative teams.

Excellent verbal communication skills, persuasiveness, and the ability to unite people around your projects.

Curiosity, open-mindedness, critical thinking, rigor, resilience, and a passion for teamwork are essential.

Fluency in written and spoken English is essential (daily interactions in an international environment).
