Description


DUTIES:                                  Research, design, and create proposals that demonstrate innovative concepts, from inception to implementation, for automotive and mobility applications. Generate concepts in both 2D and 3D proposals. Refine ideas as feedback is received. Coordinate the work of other design personnel and collaborate with multiple partners to achieve design goals. Follow design process from the sketch form to the final release clay model. Create unique interior designs and concepts for production vehicles, advanced or other mobility products through sketches as well as digitally through the use of 2D and 3D technology. Collaborate frequently with the design team, sculpting organization, engineering and fabrication teams in the development of new designs. Take a big-picture perspective on customer needs and future transportation and create provocative concepts and designs. Provide insight and recommendations to leadership while possessing willingness and acuity to act upon guidance in a deadline driven environment. Maintain knowledge of current design trends and technology. Present ideas frequently to management and leadership to communicate design ideas. Exhibit courage and challenge expectations.

REQUIREMENTS:                 Bachelor's degree in Automotive Design, Transportation Design, Industrial Design, Multimedia Design, or related field of study and 2 years of experience in a design-related occupation.  Two years of experience with: 2D analog tools including Paper/Pen and Photoshop, to promote both new designs and communicate evolutionary design direction; 3D software, including Alias, to open, evaluate, and provide feedback and collaboration on digital theme development and engineering development of the theme in 3D; Collaborating and communicating guidance on scale and full-size clay model development, including verbal, application of tape, and guidance with physically applied linework; Organizational software, including Microsoft Outlook, to give and receive scheduling/timing/deliverable updates; and Software including Microsoft PowerPoint to provide and receive illustration and communication on all studio matters including Theming and Engineering Collaboration.
