Deputy General

Job Responsibility

Lead CMF Concept Design in the India Studio CMF Team and see it through into production in cooperation with Design PQ and suppliers. Mentor and guide working-level CMF Designers in India for skill sets and conceptual ability, as directed by the Chief Designer and Global CMF Design Head. Contribute significantly to research in trends, materials and enabling technologies.

To make Color, Material and Finish Design a Strategic and Competitive advantage.

To develop the Capability and Capacity of the India Studio to take on and Deliver All aspects of CMF Design. React with agility to the Market Inputs.

Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of all key CMF-domain processes and materials. Capable of reading automotive, design and social trends. Understanding of benchmarks, competition and the market. Exceptional visualization and presentation skills. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Creative Design

Encourage new ways of reading automotive, design & social trends and design applications.

Oversee CMF concepts creation and product ionization.

Encourage advanced Annual process projects as well as concept and production projects.

Encourage active research on the latest CMF enabling technology and propose the best CMF solution.

Develop supplier relationships and generate new resources for materials.

Lead team with clearly defined CMF strategy for Tata CV, PV and EV

Project & Management

Creative leadership to deliver CMF Projects

Realistic CMF resource plan to deliver projects in the most effective way.

Fair and suitable projects allocation to individuals to keep the team engaged.

Encourage process driven approach to projects.

Understand Engineering and business criteria (production and competitiveness) and negotiate changes with the core projects members with attention to timing, budget and design excellence.

Reporting project status & research results to the European and Global Head of design

Desired Candidate Profile

Education: Master’s -level qualification in Automotive Design from a reputed institution in India or abroad. Specialist CMF Education preferred. Suitable candidates from alternative backgrounds can be considered. Relevant Experience: At least ten years of experience in a global automobile OEM with four or more CMF production-oriented programs worked on, with a lead role in at least one.

Education: Master’s -level qualification in Automotive Design from a reputed institution in India or abroad. Specialist CMF Education preferred. Suitable candidates from alternative backgrounds can be considered.

Relevant Experience: At least ten years of experience in a global automobile OEM with four or more CMF production-oriented programs worked on, with a lead role in at least one.
