About the project

User experience is a term often used in design - but what does it truly mean? For a designer, it’s about understanding how people feel, move, and interact within a space, then translating that insight into sketches and design proposals. In late 2019, at Geely Design Shanghai, we began work on the Zeekr 009 Grand Edition, a luxurious 4-seater electric MPV, with a rear cabin inspired by private jets. Tasked directly by the CEO, the goal was to design a sanctuary for high-level executives, a space to conduct meetings, rest, or unwind with a glass of whisky, all in absolute comfort and privacy. I co-led the project from initial sketch through final theme selection, mentoring a young designer and working closely with components design manager Alex O'Brien, who led the development of the seats and center console.
