About the project
Bianchi Lumo is not just a scooter, but a concrete attempt to revive the historic Bianchi brand in the world of motorized two-wheelers. Based on the technical package of the Italjet Dragster, Lumo is designed to take on the city at rush hour, with agile performance and a solid structure. Its design interprets urban traffic not as an obstacle, but as a source of inspiration: sharp, dynamic lines that reflect metropolitan energy, turning every ride into a fluid, fast, and contemporary experience. From the analysis of the Bianchi brand emerge surfaces that twist upon themselves, giving the bicycles a distinctive and dynamic character. After identifying this formal language, I selected a series of reference images that guided the creation of the scooter. In particular, the one on the left of the moodboard defined the front section, characterized by a torsion that allows the central body to pass through it; while the central image inspired the main body, which twists and culminates at the front with the integration of the headlight. Both elements recall Bianchi’s signature surface torsions, reinforcing the sense of movement. These volumes go beyond aesthetics to highlight the mechanical core: the front reveals the steering system, while the central body exposes the front and rear suspension systems, showcasing the technical sophistication of the Italjet Dragster. Finally, Lumo is conceived as an electric scooter, in line with Bianchi’s strong commitment to electrification through the E program
