About the project

The Dallara Supernova is a bold reinterpretation of the hypercar, designed to fully embody Dallara’s DNA: a highly technical machine where every component serves a single purpose — achieving maximum performance. From the very first glance, each element communicates its function with absolute clarity, without aesthetic compromise. At the core of the concept lies a structural exoskeleton developed to protect both the cockpit and the engine bay. This solution reflects one of the brand’s core values — safety — while simultaneously reducing weight. The result is an object that fuses engineering precision with a purpose-driven and striking visual identity. The bodywork, layered above this advanced framework and refined mechanical layout, takes inspiration from the fluid forms of a manta ray. Surfaces flow and stretch like fins in motion, creating a hypercar defined by a distinct carbon-fiber central cockpit that remains visible yet seamlessly integrated with the surrounding body, systems, and exoskeleton. For the front lighting, several proposals were explored. The final design adopts a compact configuration, typical of hypercars, enhancing the aggressive stance of the vehicle. This choice emphasizes the sculpted front fender while maintaining aerodynamic efficiency. The headlight itself acts as a small aero element: a technical housing for thin LED strips, conceived as a stylized reinterpretation of the Dallara logo. The outer strip functions as a daytime running light (DRL). At the rear, C-shaped taillights were chosen to push the perception of width even further. Positioned at the outer edges, they make the broad stance of the Supernova appear even more dramatic and imposing. As with the Dallara Stradale, the Supernova also offers an EXP variant, designed exclusively for the track. This specification introduces functional changes: the area behind the front wheels now incorporates air intakes, while aerodynamic canards are added at the nose to boost downforce. Headlights are pared down to their essential DRL elements, while contrasting materials and colors highlight the enlarged intakes. Racing details such as a front tow hook reinforce its uncompromising track-focused identity. Finally, the livery pays tribute to the Dallara SP1000, the company’s very first car, echoing its historic colors and proudly displaying the iconic race number 210
