About the project
This project reimagines the classic Hyundai Stellar as a modern electric drift restomod designed from the ground up.
My goal was to reinterpret a historic Korean sedan through the lens of contemporary performance design—merging heritage, stance engineering, and EV architecture.
The process began with an analysis of the original Stellar’s proportion and character lines. I preserved the recognizable silhouette while redesigning the surfacing, aerodynamic features, and wheel stance to express higher tension and agility.
Using Autodesk Alias for high-precision surface modeling and Autodesk CFD for basic aerodynamic validation, I explored how a retro body could adapt to modern electric cooling requirements and ground-effect stability.
The final concept infuses the emotional presence of 80’s motorsport with today’s EV performance language—resulting in a car that feels both familiar and entirely new.
This project represents my approach to automotive design: respecting heritage, enhancing performance, and expressing emotion through purposeful form.
