Kia has unveiled its latest innovations in electric mobility at the 2025 Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain, introducing the EV4 and the Concept EV2.
These new models expand Kia’s electric vehicle (EV) lineup, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to enhancing EV adoption through cutting-edge design, advanced technology, and versatile functionality.
The Kia EV4, the brand’s first electrified sedan and hatchback, introduces a new typology for the C-segment. Designed to combine dynamic styling with practical utility, the EV4 offers an athletic profile suited for both urban commuting and long-distance travel. With its bold aesthetics and aerodynamic efficiency, the model represents Kia’s push toward diversifying the EV market, traditionally dominated by SUVs and CUVs.
Kia’s design philosophy, ‘Opposites United,’ shapes the EV4’s visual identity. The exterior boasts a low nose and long-tail silhouette, with a wide stance that enhances its sporty appeal. The front features Kia’s distinctive EV Tiger Face, complemented by vertical headlamps and the signature Star Map lighting. The rear of the sedan variant incorporates a two-piece spoiler and a clean bumper design, while the hatchback version emphasizes a progressive, sporty character through its sloping rear window and elongated proportions.

Kia EV Day - EV4 and the Concept EV2 debut

Inside, the EV4 showcases a modern, high-tech interior with minimalist yet functional elements. A free-floating user interface and asymmetric one-spoke steering wheel reflect a fusion of innovation and intuitive usability. The interior space prioritizes comfort and flexibility, featuring a rotating armrest, sliding table console, and ample seating capacity. Luggage space is maximized to 490 liters in the sedan and 435 liters in the hatchback, providing exceptional practicality.
Performance and efficiency are at the core of the EV4’s engineering. The model is available with standard (58.3 kWh) and long-range (81.4 kWh) battery configurations, powering a 150 kW motor. The long-range version achieves a class-leading target range of 630 km (WLTP) with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.4 seconds. Aerodynamic enhancements, including a full underbody cover, contribute to an ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd, optimizing efficiency and performance.
Advanced convenience features elevate the EV4’s user experience. Digital Key 2.0 provides seamless access via smartphones and smartwatches, while the i-Pedal 3.0 system enhances regenerative braking for improved driving comfort and efficiency. A 30-inch widescreen display integrates infotainment and navigation, offering cutting-edge connectivity, including over-the-air updates and streaming services like YouTube and Netflix.

Safety remains a priority in the EV4’s design. The model is equipped with the latest ADAS features, including Highway Driving Assist 2, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist 2, and Lane Following Assist 2. Structural enhancements, such as a reinforced rocker panel and optimized battery protection, contribute to its targeted five-star Euro NCAP and US NCAP safety ratings.
Alongside the EV4, Kia has also revealed the Concept EV2, a preview of a future B-segment electric SUV. The Concept EV2 redefines urban mobility with a compact yet bold design. Its exterior features vertical DRLs, Star Map lighting, and a strong silhouette that enhances its rugged appeal. The vehicle’s profile balances a solid stance with refined geometric details, adding to its sophisticated presence.

Inside, the Concept EV2 prioritizes sustainability and flexibility. The innovative interior design incorporates rear-hinged back doors for improved accessibility, a flat floor layout, and customizable seating arrangements. Features such as pop-up luggage dividers and message lighting enhance practicality, while removable triangular speakers offer a unique, portable audio experience.
The Kia EV4 is set to begin production in March 2025 for the Korean market, with the hatchback model manufactured exclusively in Slovakia. Sales will expand to Europe and North America later in the year. Meanwhile, the production version of the Kia EV2 is expected to launch in 2026, further broadening Kia’s EV portfolio.
With these new models, Kia continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle design and functionality, providing drivers with innovative, stylish, and practical mobility solutions.
