ID.EVERY1: Volkswagen’s Bold Entry into Affordable Electric Urban Mobility

Volkswagen ID.EVERY1: The Future of Accessible Urban Mobility

The Volkswagen ID.EVERY1 marks a bold step in Volkswagen's commitment to redefine urban mobility with affordable, sustainable, and efficient electric vehicles. As part of the Electric Urban Car Family, set to launch in 2026, the ID.EVERY1 aims to offer accessible electric mobility to a broader audience, combining cutting-edge technology with an approachable design. Designed by Lorenzo Oujeili, the ID.EVERY1 blends Volkswagen’s rich heritage with a forward-thinking electric aesthetic, creating a vehicle that balances charisma, functionality, and affordability.

Heritage and Evolution

Building on the success of the Volkswagen up!, the ID.EVERY1 retains the compact proportions of its predecessor, revered for its minimalist design and practicality. The up! became a popular choice for city driving due to its efficient size and simplicity. With the ID.EVERY1, Oujeili pays homage to this legacy while injecting new life into the design, bringing forth a fresh electric identity that integrates Volkswagen’s latest design language. The result is a vehicle that is instantly recognizable as part of the Volkswagen family, while signaling the future of electric mobility.

The design offers a dynamic stance and improved interior space, a notable upgrade over its predecessor, ensuring that the ID.EVERY1 provides modern features and enhanced comfort alongside its compact dimensions.

Bold and Accessible Design

Oujeili’s design philosophy is centered around creating a car that feels approachable yet confident. The exterior features clean, sculpted lines with well-balanced proportions, enhancing the vehicle's stability and presence on the road. The front end is marked by dynamic LED lighting signatures that convey an expressive face, reinforcing the car's confident character.

At the rear, the ID.EVERY1 features a “smiling” light design, adding a warm, friendly element to its overall appearance, evoking a sense of human-like personality. This design choice reflects Oujeili’s desire to make the car not just a machine, but a companion for everyday driving.

The side profile is characterized by a strong shoulder line that visually elongates the car, complemented by large wheels and a balanced ride height. This combination of features gives the ID.EVERY1 a sporty yet practical look, perfect for urban and suburban environments. The black cladding and body-colored panels further enhance the dynamic appeal while reinforcing its urban practicality.

Maximising Space and Comfort

Despite its compact length of just 3,880 mm, the ID.EVERY1 offers a surprisingly spacious interior. Utilizing Volkswagen’s modular electric drive platform (MEB), the ID.EVERY1 optimizes space with a front-wheel-drive configuration, ensuring additional room for passengers and cargo. The interior comfortably seats four adults and offers 305 liters of luggage capacity, which is an impressive feat for a vehicle in this class.

The cabin design prioritizes comfort and openness, with a flat floor and minimalist dashboard, contributing to a more airy and spacious feel. Premium materials and ambient lighting further enhance the overall appeal without significantly driving up costs, while sustainable materials are used throughout the interior, aligning with Volkswagen's commitment to environmentally responsible design.

Electric Performance and Efficiency

The ID.EVERY1 is powered by a newly developed 70 kW (95 PS) electric motor, delivering a top speed of 130 km/h. The vehicle offers a range of at least 250 kilometers on a single charge, making it perfectly suited for urban commutes and weekend getaways.

Volkswagen’s electric front-wheel-drive system enhances handling and maneuverability, ensuring a responsive and enjoyable driving experience. The vehicle’s low center of gravity, courtesy of the MEB platform, contributes to excellent stability and cornering performance, while its compact dimensions make it easy to navigate tight city streets and parking spaces.

Oujeili’s design also ensures optimized aerodynamics, reducing drag and increasing energy efficiency. Lightweight construction techniques further boost the vehicle’s performance, making the ID.EVERY1 an efficient and sustainable choice for daily driving.

Advanced Technology and Personalization

The ID.EVERY1 introduces Volkswagen’s next-generation software architecture, which includes over-the-air updates and post-purchase feature upgrades, ensuring the car evolves with the needs of its owner. The infotainment system features a large touchscreen display and voice-activated controls, making it easy for drivers to access navigation, media, and vehicle settings with minimal distraction.

Seamless smartphone integration provides keyless entry and remote vehicle monitoring, while adaptive driving modes and real-time traffic updates make driving even more efficient and enjoyable. The ID.EVERY1 is also highly customizable, with various exterior color options, interior materials, and software upgrades that allow owners to tailor the vehicle to their preferences.

Affordability Without Compromise

Volkswagen’s goal with the ID.EVERY1 is to make electric mobility accessible to a larger audience. With a starting price around €20,000, the vehicle offers an excellent balance of affordability, performance, and design. The vehicle's cost-effective manufacturing techniques and modular components ensure that high production standards are maintained without inflating costs.

This strategy allows Volkswagen to deliver a premium value at an attainable price, aligning with the brand’s commitment to quality and reliability.

Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility

Sustainability is a key pillar of the ID.EVERY1’s design. The use of recycled materials in both the interior and exterior panels reduces the vehicle’s overall environmental footprint. The electric drivetrain lowers emissions and decreases the reliance on fossil fuels, in line with Volkswagen’s goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.

The sustainable design elements ensure that the ID.EVERY1 doesn’t just meet the demands of modern urban life but also reflects Volkswagen’s long-term commitment to a sustainable future..

A Vision for the Future

The ID.EVERY1 is not just a vehicle—it’s a statement of intent. By blending innovative technology, intuitive design, and sustainable performance, it represents Volkswagen’s vision for the future of urban mobility. Oujeili’s design ensures that the ID.EVERY1 is bold yet approachable, efficient yet exciting, and affordable yet aspirational.

Volkswagen’s ID.EVERY1 aims to lead the transition to electric mobility while remaining accessible to a broader audience, proving that electric vehicles can be both practical and inspiring. With this new chapter in Volkswagen’s storied history, the ID.EVERY1 is poised to redefine the future of electric urban mobility.cover-image cover-image cover-image
