Brussels, 12 March 2025 – The FT-Me represents a bold step in urban micromobility, combining premium design with accessibility and sustainability. As a compact, two-seater electric vehicle measuring less than two and a half metres in length, the FT-Me offers a smart solution for modern city living. Its design focuses on maximising manoeuvrability and convenience, fitting into half a parking space and even one-third when perpendicular parking is available.

The styling of the FT-Me draws inspiration from a jet helmet, reflecting a fusion of safety, robustness, and lightweight agility. The contrasting black and white bi-tone colour scheme reinforces this sense of strength and purpose, while sleek, aerodynamic lines create a dynamic visual identity. Careful attention to proportions and surface tension ensures the vehicle feels compact yet spacious, enhancing both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Accessibility defines the FT-Me’s core design philosophy. Engineered to accommodate drivers as young as 14 in certain markets, the vehicle’s intuitive control system enables driving solely through hand commands. This innovation extends to wheelchair users, who can operate the FT-Me without aftermarket modifications. The innovative steering wheel concept ensures effortless control while maintaining a minimalist yet functional cockpit design.

Safety and visibility are central to the FT-Me's design. A 360-degree visibility concept enhances situational awareness and encourages eye contact with other road users. The glasshouse structure is carefully contoured to minimise blind spots, while the elevated seating position improves both visibility and comfort.

Advanced connectivity is integrated seamlessly into the FT-Me’s design. Smartphone-based keyless entry and service access streamline the user experience, while an ergonomic interface ensures intuitive interaction with the vehicle’s systems. The interior, designed with user-friendly materials and finishes, balances simplicity with sophistication.

Sustainability drives the FT-Me’s material choices and propulsion efficiency. The vehicle maximises the use of recycled materials, contributing to a 90% reduction in carbon footprint compared to conventional city cars. An energy-efficient electric powertrain consumes three times less energy per kilometre than larger electric vehicles. The solar panel roof technology enhances this efficiency, providing up to 30 km of additional range per day in urban environments, significantly reducing the need for plug-in charging.

The FT-Me reflects Toyota’s ‘Mobility for All’ philosophy, catering to younger drivers and those seeking a practical yet stylish urban mobility solution. Its blend of thoughtful design, compact dimensions, and cutting-edge technology positions it as a versatile answer to the evolving needs of urban transportation. The FT-Me embodies a future where mobility is inclusive, efficient, and sustainable—designed to empower freedom of movement for all.
